Freedom Oh Freedom, Where Art Thou O Freedom??

I spent the day today in meetings with senior Nero the Golfer Administration folks discussing environmental regulations.

I try, as you know, not to mix work and blog, so I’m going to talk about this in only the broadest of terms – leaving the specifics out.

We met to discuss a series of recent pronouncements that will significantly impact my clients. Generally speaking, these are going to be selective regulations, that you will probably never know about, but will cost you somewhere in the range of $3-4 a day.

Now, I mention this, because what they are proposing strikes directly at the heart of the great nation.

Specifically, it is their position that the regulation is warranted – in fact it is a grand injustice and extraordinary financial discrimination not to implement – because one state doesn’t regulate for this asinine proposal, while Illinois does. And so, in Obama’s world view, the solution isn’t less regulation – and perhaps de regulating Illinois, but rather mandating onerous regulations around the rest of the country so that Illinois residents are not at a disadvantage.

  1. Sounds like Californication to me – and I’m sorry. Didja hear the one about the CA EPA? Same kind of stupid.

  2. Californication indeed.

The goal of these criminal traitors is to take the worst that California and Illinois offer, and make that the de facto standard that the rest of America has to follow.

Of course, it makes sense if your a nut job liberal. Who else would stay in one of those corrupt states? No one. So the solution must be, to force their Hugo Chavez inspired worldview on all of us.

    grrrr

  3. Well, I stay here because I own some expensive (still) property here and my wife has a good job – and to Fight the Power, man – which happens to be fighting Communism, so it’s a good fight. :-)

  4. Of course it is, and I didn’t mean to cast aspersions on the whole state – only the political class.

I fought the fight in Jersey, and I’m fighting the fight in DC (and trying to keep Virginia from falling off into the abyss)
