Things To Do While Concealed Carrying

Remember that your carrying, lest you embark on a trip to New Jersey only to realize you’ve got a gun in your pocket while paying the guy at the gas station.

Not that this happened to me.

Looks like we are headed back to NY City next weekend. Anyone know of good anti Bloomberg shirts to buy on the Internet?

Would love something along the lines of Bloomberg can suck my Glock (though I probably couldn’t wear that with the kids in tow).

I spent the day today in meetings with senior Nero the Golfer Administration folks discussing environmental regulations.

I try, as you know, not to mix work and blog, so I’m going to talk about this in only the broadest of terms – leaving the specifics out.

We met to discuss a series of recent pronouncements that will significantly impact my clients. Generally speaking, these are going to be selective regulations, that you will probably never know about, but will cost you somewhere in the range of $3-4 a day.

Now, I mention this, because what they are proposing strikes directly at the heart of the great nation.

Specifically, it is their position that the regulation is warranted – in fact it is a grand injustice and extraordinary financial discrimination not to implement – because one state doesn’t regulate for this asinine proposal, while Illinois does. And so, in Obama’s world view, the solution isn’t less regulation – and perhaps de regulating Illinois, but rather mandating onerous regulations around the rest of the country so that Illinois residents are not at a disadvantage.

All,

Gonna be traveling down to New Orleans January 27, 28, and 29th. Will be staying in the French Quarter for a meeting with EPA

Couple of questions –

First, are there any restrictions in Louisiana on carrying that I need to be aware of? Can I carry in restuarants? I know I can’t carry in the federal building, though the meeting is in my hotel (I won’t carry to the meeting itself, but when I leave the hotel to explore I’d like to be able to carry).

Any good ranges and/or fun things to do there?

Where can I go nutria hunting? Anything else in season?

Poor Communicatin’

Its the coldest December/January we’ve ever had here in Washington, D.C. Last month saw record amounts of snow and the new year brought us record, bitter cold (-5 with the wind chill today) and the prospect of another 6 inches of snow later this week.

Still, the nuts don’t give up.

Watching the Outdoor Channel for some gun fun hunting shows, and they just ran an ad about the horrors of climate change – from the perspective of some firefighter.

And the punch line was that in his years of experience, he’s never seen the situation so bad. That if something isn’t done to stop global warming and climate change, they won’t have water to put out fires and that California will burn up and fall off the continent.

Of course, that sounds like more a feature to climate change than a bug.

Regular Deer Season ends today here in Virginia as well as in Maryland. I ended up with two deer – one doe and one buck. But, luckily, earlier this week I landed a piece of property to hunt in Prince William County, VA (which happens to be owned by one of the Bush Admin officials who was most instrumental in the decision to grant the right to carry in national parks) where I can hunt antlerless deer until late March.

I got out this morning, and it was cold. 5 degrees with the wind chill. Froze my ass off. Animals started moving about 10am – saw a gorgeous fox and a bunch of red and blue birds – but no deer until I was heading back in. Saw a bunch of sign too. I’ll be back!

Any way, wanted to leave you with this great recipie for venison steaks if you have any.

Things are starting out just fine in 2010

Hit damn!

The year is getting off to a great start.

As some may recall, I misplaced a bunch of banana clip magazines for the WASR I bought from Says Uncle. They had been missing for a year or so, and I really didn’t know how many went missing, only that a bunch had.

Well, I’m doing some cleaning and organizing in the basement, reviewing records and deciding what I can shred and what we need to keep, when I run across some child saftey things (cabinet locks, corner guards) that had neve been opened and so I go stuck them up on a shelf. And there are my mags. 10 of them. And as a bonus, they are all loaded too!!

Not only are my long lost mags recovered, but I find a free 300 rounds of 7.62×39.

Like I said, it’s gonna be a great year.
