Choices, Choices
OK folks,
Which stripped lower do I get this afternoon.
$129 Stag Arms or the $135 DPMS?????
(I was going to order on line, but the cost of shipping and $20 transfer fee precludes that - sorry)
Is there any difference between the two???

I’d go with the stag. My DPMS lower was harder to assemble because the fit was almost too tight.

I got a Noveske.
According to my web-research four mfgs. produce the majority of lowers: Mega, Stag (CMT), LAR and Barrett (LMT) - while JVP and Superior Arms cut lowers for a few more.
This thread details the actual cutting and milling differences: (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=50947)
As for manufacturers-of-what, altogether it looks like this:
LMT = LMT, Lauer(old), DS Arms, PWA, Eagle, Knights Armament, Barrett, Bushmaster (?)
CMT = Stag, RRA, High Standard, Noveske, Century (current), Global Tactical, CLE, S&W, MGI, Wilson Tactical, (some?) Colt, Ratworx
LAR = Grizzly, Bushmaster (L Prefix), Ameetech, (?)DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton
JVP = Double Star, LRB
MMS = Mega, GSE, Dalphon, POF (forged), Alexander Arms,
Olympic = Olypmic, SGW, Tromix, Palmetto, Dalphon, Frankford, (old) Century
Sun Devil = Sun Devil forged billet receivers
Superior = Superior Arms, Lauer (current)
Grenadier Precision
So my Noveske is a CMT, is a Stag.

Hmm
perhaps I should buy 3 . . . one for me and one each for the boys.

Three is good! I got my parts-kit from White Oak Armament because John Holliger built my Match upper and works really good stuff with his experience, along with the Rock River tuned trigger - such an improvement over stock, but not a hair-trigger-icicle-breaker like some, just a “gooder” trigger.
I guess my Lauer is an Superior.
