Da Debate
Did Obama just say he was opposed to capitalism??
Its simple. Present to each and every Wall Street firm 2 options
1) Play in the system, or
2) Don’t play in the system
For those firms that choose out of the system, there is no additional oversight or penalties . . . provided they remain solvent. However, if they fail as a business concern, then their Senior executives will be personally liable for any outstanding losses incurred by the failure (with no option for bankruptcy) and will face mandatory, lengthy jail sentences.
Those that play in the system will be eligible for a government bailout. Provided, that they will first be subject to a massive audit and all employees AND executives of said firm who earned $1 million or more in any year over the last 10 years will be automatically jointly and severally personally liable for payment of the complete amount of the bailout up to the total compensation (including stock options, benefits, bonuses, etc) they amassed over the prior ten years. All who are unable to repay the money they falsely earned (falsely, because if they were doing their jobs they would have seen what I saw in 1999, that the entire run up was built on a house of cards) will face mandatory, decade long (or more) prison terms.
Thats only fair, isn’t it?? Is there any compelling reason not to bankrupt the whole lot of them??
I’m sitting next to this (NSFW) on the flight back from Minneapolis. Hot damn! She’s got a mold of her butt under the seat.
Love it. Gotta love it.
UPDATE
Its even better. She’s ridden the Sybian on Howard Stern!!! And hooked up with Artie!!!!
Here’s here web page and her myspace page. I’m in love.
And, Boyd, while she had clothes on - her ass rocked and her tits were gorgeous. And pretty much hanging there for me to stare at the whole time. It was an epic struggle trying to keep my focus on my laptop.
VCDL is reporting it just happened.
Yahoo!!!! Now I won’t be forced to carry illegally on car rides to the Georgia beach.
I attended the Congressional Sportsman Foundation dinner and got drunk on bpourbon while hanging with Wayne LaPierre, Chris cox, American Hunter editor scott Holmsted and the author of the Politically incoirect Guide to Hunting before heading off to a second dinner at the Capitol grill where we drank and ate some more.
The only thing missing was passionate lovemaking (which I know my wife won’t be allowing tonight since I’m drunk and she’s probably sound asleep).
And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don’t mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There’s no reason for it, you’ve gotta go sometime. If you can hear this whispering you are dying.
I never said I was frightened of dying.

RIP, Richard Wright
Last week, I was a respectable 9-7. Lets see how I can do this week!
But more importantly, what’s up with the Monday Night Football double headers. Is that going to be a feature ALL season long?? And perhaps more importantly, where is Monday night’s Texans Ravens game going to end up being played??

You will remember the other day when I predicted the results of this glorious, and injury prone, opening weekend of the football season. Well, you ask - how did I fare??? Lets just say opening weekend is always the toughest - where you base your picks on last seasons performance and a gut level reaction to how folks faired in the offseason and who wants it most. But you can never get them all right - and in that regard I’m pretty thrilled with going 9-7

Andrew “I live in D.C. and Cape Code, don’t own a car, but yet understand America” Sullivan
Watching this for the first time, as opposed to reading it, it’s very clear that Palin has never heard of the Bush doctrine on pre-emption, perhaps the most significant element of his disastrous legacy in foreign policy: She is clearly out of her depth.
And his Quote of the Day (which he adopts as his own)
Forget about Trooper-gate and creationism. Forget about the truly low, cynical people who think that being the target of “liberal ridicule” necessarily means you’re qualified to lead the country. Forget about moose-hunting and pipelines. You simply can’t be a credible VP nominee and have no idea what the Bush doctrine is. Watch this clip. And then think about the people who say Andrew has lost his mind over Palin’s nomination. I admit, for a while I wondered why he was going so hard. Now I know. And now I know who, truly, must be out their minds,
And then there is Charles Krauthammer - who incidently coined the term The Bush Doctrine. He ought to know about it, right??
Presidential doctrines are inherently malleable and difficult to define. The only fixed “doctrines” in American history are the Monroe and the Truman doctrines which come out of single presidential statements during administrations where there were few other contradictory or conflicting foreign policy crosscurrents.
Such is not the case with the Bush doctrine.
Yes, Sarah Palin didn’t know what it is. But neither does Charlie Gibson. And at least she didn’t pretend to know — while he looked down his nose and over his glasses with weary disdain, sighing and “sounding like an impatient teacher,” as the Times noted. In doing so, he captured perfectly the establishment snobbery and intellectual condescension that has characterized the chattering classes’ reaction to the mother of five who presumes to play on their stage.
Read his whole piece. Its worth starting a countdown - of every day - until Andrew Sullivan either admits that when it comes to the Bush Doctrine, he’s actually less intelligent than Sarah Palin, or he decides to go back to Europe. I suspect this ones going to go on for some time.
:
So, my birthday is coming up next month, and in a little over 50 days we’ll have an election. And Hunting season is here. All adds up to - its time to buy another gun.
For awhile, I was thinking about plopping some change down on a Homeland Security Rifle - some evil liberal scaring nightmare rifle. But in recent weeks my thoughts have drifted towards something more Kerryesque - namely a nice side by side shotgun for bird hunting (don’t EVEN start on the idea of getting an O/U).
Now, I have a side by side - its a 12 gauge hardware gun that was my fathers. Its got some nice scroll work on it, and actually comes to point fine. But its a little heavy, and frankly it just isn’t as nice as some of the old school side by sides.
What I really want is a 16 gauge SxS. I have an old single shot 16 gauge - with some gorgeous walnut on it. But want a SxS. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find one in my price range. So, I’m willing to look at 12’s and 20s and 28s. Amongst the guns I’m looking at is a German Guild Gun.
And thats where my question comes - what do they mean by Guild Gun?
And does anyone have info on German Guild Guns?
