A City Curiously Devoid Of Children
I think we can all agree that this is a good thing.
Troubling on one level, but also promising that young minds aren’t raised in this culture.
Other thoughts:
For the most part I have no idea who is gay. I know there are lots of them, but I can’t pick ‘em out. The guys at least. There do seem to be lots of lesbians, or should I just call them 45 year old women with mullets.
And the class divide is shocking. The poor are destitute and the rich live in gorgeous homes with heavy gates and armed security. No wonder they push gun bans here, the rich are as armed as any politician and have only the unwashed masses to fear. Strangley like Soviet era Russia even

And they believe, living in their armed towers of wealth -(do not forget they are primarily Leftists)- that the rest of the world mirrors (certainly wishes to, anyhow) the shocking divide of their own inherited environment. The GUILT, it PANGS!!
And they can easily vote for such as John Edwards - because with their inherently manifest superior spirituality (since hand-me-down Religion is so naif) they too can summon up the spirit and know the desires of a dead child - which is to engage in lawsuits and wealth distribution.
Bunch of sick puppies up there.

Almost all children would be in the suburbs and Bay Area towns/cities. Their parents either commute to work via car or take the BART train.

If you’re looking for kids within the city limits, head east toward the ocean and into the Sunset District. I went to high school out that way. Definitely kids there.
Otherwise the ‘burbs are your next best bet, as Alcibiades says.

The many children you don’t see are Hispanic and they live in the Mission where families are still important, or Asian and live in the Outer Sunset (same thing).
White SF kids are brought-up hip, haughty, distant, and ironic - and they call other people with kids “breeders.” Tweaked for sure.

I grew up about 20-25 miles down the peninsula from SF. When I was in 1st grade, there were 5 elementary schools in our little town. By the time I finished high school, they were down to 2.
The general rule was: if you have kids, you can’t afford to live here. If you could afford to live there, then usually you didn’t have kids or at least just the one or two vanity children.
