Puppy Name Update
Wife is leaning towards Rex. Full registered name would be Beauregard’s Mardi Gras Monarch.
Beauregard to honor the last dog, Beaux.
Mardi Gras is the name of the puppy’s mother.
Monarch for Rex. Rex is latin for king. It is the name of the original New Orleans Mardis Gras crewe who organized the first celebration following the civil war and still to this day oversee the biggest parade and crowning of the Mardi Gras king.
Of course, Elvis is the king, and is also the name of the puppy’s paternal grandfather - the first Grand Master Hunting Retriever with 1000 points.
I’m still favoring Johnny Cash. But it looks like I’m losing this one fast.
Go figure.

I was talking to an old codger down at Ni Reservoir, in Spotsylvania Co. one day, and his dog (an ole black lab), was getting into any and everything. Suddenly the codger shouts “C’mere, Stonewall!”, and the dog was seated at his feet. Got a chuckle out of me. But personally, I like “Fang”.

just a thought.. you have a black lab and johnny cash is the man in black… it fits. but also wanted to let you know we purchased a yellow from deep run this past sept and couldn’t be happier with her looks, talent, personality..the whole package !!! She is our 3rd lab in our house.. so becareful, it’s an addiction. best of luck with what’s his name!!!
