Fuck The FBI
Seriously.
I tried twice to get a job there – was recruited by an agent who thought I would be perfect and fill a much needed jobs – but was rebuffed by these idiotic policies because I decided to smoke pot instead of becoming a violent alcoholic drunk.
Fuckers. Fuck Them and the Fucking Corrupt Unconstitutional Horse They Rode In On.
There should be a national movement to piss on J. Edgar Hoover’s grace every July 4th. While smoking pot.
Fuck ‘Em All

Were you smoking pot during the interview, or did they simply ask if you may have inhaled the smoke 20 years ago?
If the latter applies, maybe we should have a Congressional hearing to see if they currently employ anyone who has ever gone to an Allman Brothers concert. (It’s impossible not to inhale unless you bring along scuba gear.)

Why would you want to be a govey? Civilian contractors make so much more money.

TJH – First time it was pretty obvious at one point that I had no chance to go any further because of my past behavior and so I withdrew my application before we got to the background check.
Second time (post 9/11) was told they were desperate for folks with experience in an archaic area of the law I was practicing and had backed off of these concerns. So I applied again and then found out they had the same idiotic rules in place. Fuck ‘em
Ravnwood – I have no desire to work there now. At one point I had an interest (and I would still love to spend some time at DOJ generally) but I’ve moved on. The money isn’t a factor as it only enables me to earn even more later on.
